What is Brand?
People talk about brands every time, you’re surrounded by brands in your daily life, and when you open your eyes and expose to the world, you see at least 10.000 ads from different brands.
So How to create a brand that really sells?
You need to ask 4Questions
Who Are you?
In this phase, you should know who you really are, answering the question of what problem do I solve? How do I solve this problem better than any other brand in the market? What makes me different from others? What are the influences that brought you into the competition? Is there a story behind your existence?
The answer to these questions will inform you who are you in the market, knowing who you really gives you confidence about starting the business, because you won’t be able to launch right if you cannot answer these questions
What/Why do you do that?
In this red sea of very hard competition, you should exactly know what you present and why you present it that way, many restaurants are selling food, but the unique value you give it to your customers makes your brand valuable and noticeable
Try to ask questions like, What makes my brand different from others? What are the reasons that make my target segment buy from me, not from the competitor? What is the actual value behind my product or service? Why does my brand exist?
What is your look/feel?
This is your visual representation of your business, illustrated in the logo shape and color, you can represent the business with fonts too, like many authentic Arabian brands who wrote their names with authentic Arabic font
It’s crucial that your logo represents the business locally and internationally, think about how your logo will reflect your business capabilities, values, and true direction
Try to ask yourself, is it memorable? Is it remarkable? Is it simple for elemental breakdown by only looking at it?
What is your tone of voice?
Brands can be humanized and got character as well, for example, can you Imagine Macdonald’s as human? Would wear shorts and a T-shirt right? And talk in a funny and friendly way and will reach out to all the crowds
Now Imagine Apple, will come on time, wearing a tidy tremendous suit and talk professionally, probably will wear a sunglasses
Same is your brand, it must have a character and tone of voice, you can ask questions like, Is it serious or funny? Formal or casual, or maybe somewhere in between? Respectful or irreverent? Matter-of-fact or enthusiastic?
Conclusion
The brand is not just an important factor for the business, it is THE business, it reflects what the business does and what its values represent to the customer, in many cases brand helps to position you in the right place against your competitors.
